How does the Accreditation Guideline define remuneration for a work term?
While remuneration may not always be a wage, it is expected to be for the mainstream. Some programs have exceptions where volunteer positions are accepted (e.g., if a student is not able to obtain a paid work term). We would not accredit a program which routinely approved unpaid positions with an employer as a co-op work term. When volunteer co-op work terms are approved as an exception, the position must be treated the same as a paid position and must meet all other criteria.
